Common Agricultural Policy 2023-2027
The total allocation for the CAP in the period 2021-2027 amounts to EUR 386.6 billion, divided between two funds. The EAGF (European Agricultural Guarantee Fund) has an allocation of EUR 291.1 billion, out of which up to EUR 270 billion will be provided for income support schemes, with the remainder dedicated to supporting agricultural markets. The total allocation of the EAFRD (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, together with EURI - European Union Recovery Instrument) amounts to EUR 95.5 billion. The total allocation corresponds to the ongoing MFF period (2021-2027). Learn more about the CAP funding on this webpage.
In the first two years 2021-2022, the CAP allocations were implemented under the transitional regulation, ensuring a smooth transition to the CAP Strategic Plans 2023-2027, whose implementation started on 1 January 2023 and is illustrated in the different tabs below.

CAP Budget 2023-2027
The CAP budget 2023-2027 includes EU funding, Member States' co-financing and additional national financing. It cannot be directly compared to the payments covering only the EU funds.
The financial allocation of interventions to specific objectives is larger than the CAP budget as a Member State can establish one or more links between an intervention and specific objectives.
A financial contribution from direct payments interventions to the specific objectives on climate, natural resources and biodiversity is accounted for, considering the link to conditionality. For more information on the presentation select "view info" on this Agridata section.
